When it came on the market in 1938, the 64 Chromonica was the first chromatic to boast a range of over four octaves. Thanks to the additional bottom octave, it took the tonal range of the harmonica into registers where it had never before been heard. As well as bringing many pieces from the classical repertoire within the reach of the instrument.
